The program is:

- Friday 8th August 2008: Flying on Classic. From Mozart to Skryabin across the Jazz
- Saturday 9th August 2008: Markus Stockhausen & Ferenc Snetberger Duo.

We are glad to provide a little introduction to Festival's artists and music:

ITALIAN TANGO QUARTET
The group born from an idea of accordionist, pianist and composer Giuliana Soscia, result of a special artistic and creative path of years of study and experimentation from concert halls to television studios in collaboration with Pino Iodice jazz pianist and composer, talented arranger and conductor. The repertoire is entirely dedicated and inspired by the "Tango", with an absolutely unique quartet which experiences a contaminated style from jazz to the contemporary music.
The bass, played masterfully by young Francesco Angiulli which, although from a classical extraction boasts numerous collaborations especially in jazz music, beyond its traditional role as rhythmic support by taking the role of soloist. The percussion, entrusted to the expert hands of Francis De Rubeis, maintain the involving rhythm of the tango accentuating the colours and the expressiveness.

FLYING ON CLASSIC
This concert is a bridge between two cultures, the classic and jazz music and presents the creation of new "standards" recomposed by themes, or part of them, from classical piano literature: in this case, the composers taken as a model are J. S. Bach, W. A. Mozart and A. Skrjabin.
Therefore, the scores which draw from both one and the other language, even from the point of view of musical handwriting, blend between them characterising for their predisposition to the contamination with a strong vivacity and modernity, truly uncommon.
Considering the particularity of the elaborated musical idea, there is no need to know the quartet to appreciate the musical initiative: the work of the group has "open" such material to any kind of sensitivity and listening.
The four musicians, Francesco Nastro, Giulio Martino, Thomas Scannapieco and Mario De Paola, are all coming from a mining mainly jazz, and with these artistic experiences, the great music which result is a rich mix of genres and filtered influences from jazz language.
Program:
the "Current" of the suite in G minor. BWV 808 of J.S. Bach
Running
by fantasy in C minor W. A. Mozart
Suite - Bracing air - Waiting for a new world - What is your little game? -- To Meet Again
Go upstream - Power Lifting

SNETBERGER/STOCKHAUSEN

Ferenc Snétberger was born in 1957 in Salgotarjan Hungary and lives in Berlin since the early 90s. The Latin passion, the Indian music and Johann Sebastian Bach reveals in his way of playing, a virtuous guitarist with a rare skill that combines jazz improvisation to a perfect classical technique: an original voice of the scene today.
Markus Stockhausen Born in Cologne in 1957 is an eclectic musician who integrates classical, contemporary and jazz to what he himself likes to define Music Intuitive. His worldwide concert activity brings him to perform in the major music festivals in different situations: from solo to all string orchestra. Soloist of trumpet and flugelhorn, composer and improviser, he has dedicated the past couple of years to study the piano and the trumpet and soon alongside his father, the composer Karlheinz Sockhausen, crowding scenes of the most prestigious stages, from La Scala in Milan to the Royal Opera House in London. Currently involved in several projects and one of the most representative is the one in duo with Snétberger with whom he recorded two CDs for the label Enja. "For My People" sees also the participation in some songs of Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra of Budapest, while "Streams", released in 2007, is the freshest witness of this fantastic duo.
The technical and safety of Snétberger on strings is phenomenal, the sound and research of the unusual Stockhausen are incredible. Two different artists between them that instead meet themselves in an acclaimed artistic project. Will it be their diversity to make this combination so interesting?
